CIMA did a survey on the 17 April 2018 to measure the salinity variations along the Guadiana estuary.
First results indicate that the salinity front is at only 20 km from the mouth. This is 30 km downstream in comparison to similar measurements performed this summer, in relation to the intense rain falls in the region over the last weeks.
During this survey, planktonic organisms were also collected in collaboration with CCMAR.
