Last year, an International Conference took place at the University of Algarve to pay tribute to the late Professor Mário Ruivo, a renowned biologist, oceanographer, humanist, democrat and a well-known advocate for the ocean.
The debate that took place at the conference resulted in an e-book entitled “Sustainable Development of the Ocean: A Necessity”, soon hereby attached.
With this book, we hope to continue to stir the much needed debate concerning the sustainable development of the ocean and, in this manner, to honour the memory of Professor Mário Ruivo.
