The PhD student at the University of Algarve, Joanna Melissa Ribeiro Gonçalves, from the Center for Marine and Environmental Research, from the course Marine, Earth and Environmental Sciences, received this Saturday (June 5th), World Environment Day, the Ocean Award prize from the Mirpuri Foundation. The Mirpuri Foundation Ocean Award was created to recognize excellence in the scientific community and reward the most innovative projects designed to positively impact the health of our oceans.
The student competed with her doctoral project "EMERGING: Environmental Mixtures of Emerging contaminants Repercussions on Gonads and Impact on Next Generations" in a poster format.
