INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATIONS

CIMA has participated in a large number of international projects and collaborations: almost 140 research projects and 423 scientific publications between 2015 and 2020. Moreover, during this period, an important part of the CIMA budget was obtained through international funding. Regarding advanced training, CIMA collaborates with numerous international universities and research centres to develop master and doctoral dissertations, Erasmus internships, etc.

As a result of the consolidation of the international partnerships, CIMA is represented, through its members, in several commissions of international relevance, such as:

  • The Working Group CLEAN OCEAN established under CP-COI to contribute to the development of Ocean Science Decade of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO

  • The General Assembly of Portuguese Association of Women in Science – AMONET
  • The COI-Intersec Working Group

  • The pool of experts for the second United Nations World Ocean Assessment

  • The IMBeR – Integrated Marine Biosphere Research
  • The Future Earth Coasts

  • The Ocean Knowledge Action Network
