Effects of Tidal-Forcing Variations on Tidal Properties Along a Narrow Convergent Estuary

In a new article, a researcher from CIMA (Erwan Garel) describes a new analytical approach to analyse tidal propagation along estuaries in function of variable forcing conditions at the mouth (e.g., tidal amplitude). Applied at the Guadiana Estuary, the method provides direct insights about neap-spring variations resulting from the relative effects of friction, morphologial convergence and wave reflection at the estuary head.
