Julia Luebbers graduated in Geosciences (specialization in Micropaleontology and Applied Geology) in 2016 from the University of Kiel (Germany). She wrote her Master Thesis in cooperation with the GEOMAR on recent saltmarsh foraminiferal assemblages from Iceland. Right after finishing her MSc she started her PhD on the paleoceanography evolution of the Indo-Pacific Warm Pool during the middle to late Miocene at the Marine Micropaleontology Working group of the Kiel University. Where she mostly worked on Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (IODP) Site U1443 from the Indian Ocean on which she reconstructed the evolution of the middle to late Miocene carbonate crash. In 2021 she concluded her PhD and constitute working on the IODP U1490 project. In 2022 she joined CIMA as Post-doctoral researcher on RECAP project. She is actively contributing to obtain strategic knowledge on the potential benefits and risks of alkalinity enhancement in intertidal environments, considering future implementation of upscaling scenarios for decarbonization.
