Badr El Mahrad is an environmental scientist working on different topics such as water, coastal and marine management, sustainable blue growth, circular economy, plastic pollution, remote sensing, climate change, and adaptive management. He has a multi-disciplinary education, with degrees in Earth Sciences, Hydroinformatics and Water Engineering, Water and Coastal Management, Environmental Assessment and Management, and Sustainable Blue Growth. He holds a PhD in Geosciences, Environment and Sustainable Development from the Mohammed V University of Rabat, Morocco in collaboration with University of Algarve, Portugal. He is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Marine and Environmental Research (CIMA), University of Algarve, Portugal.
He is a Board of Scientific Association for Water Information and Sustainability (SAWIS); member of Lagoons4life Network and Young Ambassador representing Morocco at the BlueMed Initiative
