The Fifth Sentinel-3 Validation Team Meeting 7-9 May 2019
European Space Agency(ESA)/ESRIN, Frascati, Italy (https://www.s3vt.org/)
With both Sentinel-3A and -3B now in orbit, this meeting will focus on the comparison of data from both missions and the results. The organisation of the meeting was centred, as usual, around the sub-groups for Altimetry, Sea Surface Temperature, Ocean Colour, Land and Atmosphere.
CIMA was represented by the Researcher Sónia Cristina in the Ocean Colour Group where she made a poster presentation with the title “How satellite ocean colour sensor validation supports offshore aquaculture!”. Her presented work was based on the validation of the Sentinel-3/Ocean and Land Colour Instrument (OLCI) made during 2016-2018 campaigns off Sagres in the SW of Portugal, as well on the new developments made in the area in respect to the acquisition of in situ data to help the management of the aquacultures that will also complement the validation of Sentinel-3/OLCI constellation.
