Member of CIMA since 1998. From 2012 working on marine coastal processes and dynamics. Research in the field of marine and estuarine chemistry and chemical oceanography. Study of the major oceanographic processes affecting  the coastal transitional systems in the SW Iberia within  Gulf of Cadiz and their effects in terms of nutrients, gases  and chlorophyll a; mass exchanges estimates across and along shore of coastal waters. Study of the  processes affecting the global productivity of the Ria Formosa system considering  the dynamics of nutrients, chlorophyll a (as a proxy of phytoplankton) and particulate matter (organic and inorganic),  also supported by and satellite images analyses.  Study of the impacts of wastewater discharges on water water quality of coastal systems.
